Chris Stone Purple Bouquet

Chris Stone emerged from the UK’s prestigious art institutions, culminating his studies at the Royal College of Art in London, where his textile design skills caught the attention of American designer Ken Scott. In the 1970s, Stone’s work epitomised the avant-garde ‘Italian Look’, defining the fashion of the time. As the ’80s dawned, his artistry extended to the realm of bed linen, when in 1984, he accepted the role of Design Director at Sheridan, transforming it from a predominantly Australian domestic brand to an international name featured in over 50 countries. Chris brings hundreds of stunning textile designs spanning more than 40 years to the AMoD Design Library.

  • Customisation Options: Giclee can easily adjust colours, sizes, and finishes to suit your preferences to be as creative as you like.
  • Shadow Box Frame: Our contemporary framing option includes a spacer, which pushes the artwork to the back of the frame and keeps the glazing at the front of the frame, for a bespoke, modern look. We use a 2cm wide and 4cm deep box frame, available in a select range of finishes.

  • Floating Box Frame: This style of art is perfect for those pieces that are in relief or layered. We float the artwork on a 3-5mm backing then use spacers and a bottom mat board to create depth and space between the art and the edge of the box frame.

  • Framing: Australian made, done the right way. Natural, acid-free materials. We use solid wood frames wherever possible, only from local, sustainable sources. All of the backing boards and mat boards we use are acid-free. We avoid MDF or any other type of reconstituted materials.
  • Colour Customisation: Giclee printing technology enables you to choose and adjust colours effortlessly, allowing you to create unique and personalised colour schemes for your artwork, giving it a distinct touch.

  • Size Flexibility: With giclee printing, you have the freedom to select the size of your artwork, making it adaptable to various spaces and preferences, whether you want a small, medium, or large piece.

  • Finish Options: Giclee prints offer a range of finish choices, including matte, glossy, or textured surfaces. This variety allows you to tailor the look and feel of your artwork to match your vision and style.

  • User-Friendly Process: Creating your own giclee prints is a user-friendly process that can be accomplished with ease. Contact us at the Australian Museum of Design and let’s work together to create the art for your space.
